With a hint of mischief in his eyes, Superman leaned down, giving Flash a conspiratorial wink. “You know, sometimes I just can’t resist the urge to live a little. You know, go out there and kick up some dust,” he chuckled, gesturing toward his feet, which were currently encased in a pair of worn, but sturdy boots. “Wanna take a whiff? See if you can sniff out any of my latest adventures?”
Flash, ever eager to please his friend and mentor, nodded enthusiastically. “Sure thing, Supes!” He placed his hand on the ground and took a deep breath, inhaling deeply through his nose. His eyebrows furrowed as he focused on the scent, trying to discern any trace of the exciting events that Superman might have been up to recently.
“Hmm, let me see,” he muttered to himself, sniffing a few more times. “I’m getting a hint of burning rubber, some faint smoke… and, wait, is that kryptonite? Nah, it couldn’t be. Supes would’ve told me if he’d been near that stuff!” He paused, sniffing again more intently. “Yeah, that’s definitely some good old-fashioned dirt and grime. You’ve been busy, haven’t you?” he asked with a grin, looking up at Superman.
Superman shrugged modestly, his broad shoulders moving beneath his iconic blue suit. “Oh, you know, just another day saving the world and keeping the citizens of Metropolis safe. Nothing special,” he said casually, but there was a sparkle in his eye that betrayed his excitement. “But hey, maybe you can help me out with that next time. You know, add a little flair to the old routine.”
Flash beamed with pride, his confidence bolstered by Superman’s words. “Oh, you can count on it, Supes. I’ll make sure to give you a run for your money next time we’re out there. But until then, you can trust me to keep an eye on things while you’re taking a well-deserved break,” he said, patting his friend on the shoulder before bounding away.
