Private Libor’s heart raced as he heard his superior officer’s voice echo through the barracks. He knew he was in trouble again, and this time it seemed particularly severe. The young soldier had been careless on a recent mission, and now he was about to pay the price. As he was marched out of the barracks and into the dimly lit punishment chamber, he steeled himself for what was to come.
The officer began by brandishing a wooden spoon, its handle worn smooth from years of use. With a sneer, he ordered Libor to bend over a large wooden table. The cold, hard surface pressed into his stomach as he waited, his heart pounding in his ears. The officer delivered the first, sharp smack of the wooden spoon across the seat of Libor’s trousers. The soldier winced in pain, biting back a curse. Another smack rang out, and then another, each one harder than the last.
When the officer finally stopped, he commanded Libor to stand up. The young soldier slowly rose to his feet, his face flushed with embarrassment and pain. To his horror, he saw that the officer was already removing his uniform pants. He felt a surge of panic as he realized what was about to happen next. Naked and vulnerable, he was made to assume the humiliating wheelbarrow position. His arms and legs were stretched wide, leaving him completely exposed as the officer positioned himself behind him.
The wooden spoon connected with his bare bottom with an unbelievable force, sending waves of pain coursing through his body. Each smack made him cry out in agony, his face contorting with the effort to contain his tears. The officer continued the brutal assault, his blows growing ever harder and more frequent. Finally, the officer stood up, wiping his brow. Shamed and humiliated, Private Libor struggled to his feet and stumbled back to the barracks. The pain was unbearable, but he knew that it was nothing compared to the shame he felt for letting his unit down. He vowed to be more careful in the future, but deep down, he knew that he would never forget the brutal punishment he had just endured.
