That night, as I was taking a late-night stroll through the deserted streets, my heart skipped a beat when I spotted a young boy rummaging through the garbage cans. His small frame was hunched over, shoulders trembling as he searched for scraps of food. Instantly, I knew I had to help him. I approached him gently, trying to appear non-threatening.
“Hey, kid,” I said softly. “You shouldn’t be out here this late. It’s dangerous.” He looked up at me, eyes wide with fear and desperation. “Come with me, and I’ll get you something to eat. Just promise me you’ll be good and obey me from now on.”
He nodded slowly, relief flooding his features. I led him to my car, careful not to make any sudden moves that might frighten him further. Once inside, I secured him with a pair of handcuffs, ensuring he wouldn’t try anything foolish. As we drove to my home, I couldn’t help but wonder what kind of life this poor child had led to bring him to this point.
When we arrived, I guided him inside and pointed to a spot on the floor. “Stay there,” I commanded gently. I retrieved some clothes and a towel from my room, then returned to find him still where I’d left him. “Take off your clothes,” I instructed, my voice steady and reassuring. He hesitated for a moment before slowly beginning to undress. Once he was naked, I helped him into the warm bathwater, washing away the dirt and grime of the streets.
As I scrubbed his back, I felt a strange mix of pity and protectiveness wash over me. This boy was just a child, lost and alone in the world. But with me, he would be safe, cared for, and loved. As I rinsed the soap from his hair, I made a silent promise to myself that I would do everything in my power to give him the life he deserved.
